After a difficult 2017 there is a feeling of excitement around the team as we get the opportunity to rebuild the club through the development of locally based players as we look ahead to the matches against our 2018 opponents. Head Coach Geraint Roberts had to this to say in the run up to the 2018 season kicking off: “We’ve had an excellent couple of open training sessions before the preseason and a really strong preseason so far, with large numbers of new players to the sport coming along to try the sport for the first time. The level of ability and enthusiasm has been very encouraging and we’re looking forward to progressing these players as we prepare for the new season.”
In what will be the Warriors first season Division Two West the Warriors will be host a new series of opponents as Coach Roberts noted: “Apart from the Cornish Sharks we haven’t faced any of the other teams in our new conference in a competitive match, and even then the last time we played them was in 2011. So, it’s going to be a season of unknowns for us, but that just adds to the excitement.”
